Who is Hannah Stombler-Levine?

Hannah Stombler-Levine (professionally known as Hannah Ayla) is a multi-award-winning visual designer with over 15 years of experience collaborating with some of the world’s most recognized brands. Her creative specialties include product photography, food photography, illustration, and brand design. While her design portfolio showcases her artistic range and innovation, Hannah’s true passion lies in community advocacy and social impact.

For the past seven years, Hannah has served as a volunteer foster youth advocate through the San Francisco Dependency Court. In this role, she has worked directly with children in the foster care system, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are prioritized. Hannah has also organized fundraisers raising thousands of dollars to provide her assigned foster youth with access to educational opportunities, mental health services, and resources not otherwise supported by the courts.

Her dedication to child advocacy was formally recognized when she was named Advocate of the Month at San Francisco CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) in July 2023. Through both her creative career and her ongoing commitment to child welfare reform and social justice, Hannah continues to merge art, advocacy, and purpose.

In addition to her work with CASA as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, Hannah Stombler-Levine recently joined the Legislative Advocacy Team (LAT) in San Francisco. In this role, she helps give a voice to foster youth in California, working directly with policymakers and lawmakers to strengthen protections for children in the state’s child welfare system.

Hannah’s passion for advocacy deepened during her internship with Judge Susan Breall, where she researched the best practices of CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children) courts across the United States. Her findings highlighted the disproportionate number of youth of color in these enhanced courts, underscoring the systemic racism and historical inequities embedded in the foster care system. These insights continue to fuel her drive to fight for equity and justice for vulnerable children in her community.

Beyond her direct advocacy work, Hannah—known professionally online as Hannah Ayla—leverages social media as a tool for change. She regularly creates videos and educational content to raise awareness about institutional racism, the school-to-prison pipeline, and common myths about foster care and child welfare. By combining grassroots advocacy with digital storytelling, Hannah is committed to making systemic issues more visible and inspiring others to join the fight for social justice.

In order to blend her two passions, Hannah often takes on non-profit design projects at a reduced cost. Have a project you think Hannah could help with? Don’t hesitate to reach out.
